Class of 2012 Graduation Change

Mrs. Ball will be informing students today that the location for graduation this year has changed to the Landmark Theater in Richmond. High school graduation will be at the Landmark Theater on June 1st at 1:00 p.m. This is a change - the Arthur Ashe Center is no longer available due to HVAC issues.

Goochland Welcomes AdvancEd Team

As part of our accreditation process with AdvancEd (formerly SACS-CASI), we have a team visiting our school division today, Monday, April 23 through Wednesday, April 25th. http://www.glnd.k12.va.us/index/news/goochland_welcomes_advanc_ed_team/

Five team members have been assembled from localities in Virginia, Oklahoma, and Florida. They will present findings to the school board on Wednesday afternoon.

Storm Chaser Visits Powhatan this Week

Goochland students can attend a visit with Tim Samaras! Join us at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night, April 5, 2012 at Powhatan High School to hear Tim Samaras, star of National Geographic's Storm Chasers television program.  The JASON Project is sponsoring this FREE event in conjunction with Powhatan County Public Schools.  Tim Samaras and his scientist partners travel into tornados and monster storms in order to collect data that can be used to learn more about and to predict these storms.  He will share his breakthrough research and some life-saving tips with Central Virginia FREE this Thursday evening.
